What to Expect From Our Water Damage Restoration Services
From the moment our crew walks in, you’ll know what we’re finding, what we’re doing about it, and what happens next, making a stressful situation much easier to get through. While the drying equipment runs, we protect as much of your property as we can, working around radiant heating loops and drying hardwood floors and cabinets in place whenever they can be saved. Behind the scenes, we work with your insurance company on the documentation the claim needs, so it keeps moving without you spending your days on the phone.
When the last of the moisture is gone, the rebuild picks up right where the drying left off, with the same company and the same project details, so nothing gets lost in a handoff. You get your kitchen, your floors, and your routine back, and after we’ve packed up, the repaired walls and ceilings blend in so well you’d have trouble finding them. Months later, when the snow melts and the property warms up, you won’t find a musty smell or hidden mold behind the drywall, because every layer was dried all the way through before the rebuild started. That’s the Rocky Mountain experience.

Our Water Damage Restoration Process
01 We answer and send a crew
We answer 24/7 and talk you through shutting off the main valve if you safely can. A crew typically arrives in about 60 minutes with extraction and drying equipment on the truck, ready to stop the water at its source.
02 We extract the water and map the moisture
We move your furniture and belongings clear of the water, then extract the standing water from floors, carpet, and pad. Before drying starts, we map where the moisture spread behind walls and under floors, so we know exactly what needs drying and what can be saved.
03 We dry the structure
We set up drying equipment sized to the space and take moisture readings every day. Materials that can’t be dried come out, and nothing gets closed up until the readings show the framing and subfloor are dry.
04 We repair and rebuild
If you’re filing a claim, we send your adjuster the repair estimate before work begins. Then our construction crew replaces the drywall, flooring, cabinets, and trim that came out and cleans the saved carpet, so you can use every room again.

Why Customers Call Rocky Mountain for Water Damage Restoration
Drying a mountain property correctly takes specialized training, the right equipment, and someone checking the work at every stage. When the job also involves an insurance claim and a rebuild, you get one company that handles both.

01 Reets-trained drying technicians
Our technicians trained through the Reets Drying Academy and use TES heat-based drying systems, which pull moisture out of hardwood, subfloors, and insulation that fans alone leave wet.
02 IICRC-certified water restoration
We hold IICRC certifications in water damage restoration and structural drying, so we dry every wall, floor, and cabinet on your job to the standards the restoration industry sets.
03 Your claim handled for you
We document the drying with photos and moisture readings and send them to your adjuster, and after more than 15 years with local carriers, we know what they need to approve the work.
04 One company for the cleanup and the rebuild
As licensed general contractors, we rebuild what the water ruined ourselves, so you don’t have to find a second contractor or start over with a new estimate once the drying is done.
05 Every stage checked by a supervisor
A supervisor reviews every water job at key stages, so a missed wet spot or a rushed repair gets caught early instead of turning into a second visit after we’ve left.

The Same Crew Since 2008, With a New Mountain on the Jacket
You might know us as RMCAT, from the diamond logo on our beanies or the tie-dye we wear to every community event. Our logo has changed, but our people, our local roots, and our fast response haven’t.
We take our work seriously, even if we don’t always take ourselves that seriously.

Additional Restoration Services After Water Damage
A water loss can turn into a mold problem, a lingering odor, or a rebuild, and our crews are ready to handle each of those jobs.
Water Damage
After burst pipes, appliance leaks, ice dams, and flooding, we extract the water, find every wet area, dry what can be saved, and rebuild what had to come out, so nothing lingers behind your walls.
You’re viewing this service-
Frozen & Burst Pipes
When a frozen pipe splits inside a wall or crawl space, we open only what we have to, dry the framing and insulation around it, and repair the wall, so one broken line doesn’t turn into a remodel.
Frozen pipe cleanup →
Fire & Smoke Damage
The water used to put out a fire can soak the walls, floors, and insulation the flames never reached. When this happens we dry the building out while the soot and smoke odor are cleaned up, before any rebuilding starts.
Fire damage restoration →-
Mold Remediation
When a slow leak has run behind a wall or under a sink long enough to grow mold, we contain the area and remove the growth before any drywall goes back up, so the new walls start clean.
Mold remediation → -
Storm & Ice Damming
When an ice dam or heavy snow sends water through the roof, we tarp it, dry the ceilings and insulation underneath, and repair the roof, so the next melt doesn’t start the leak again.
Storm damage repair → -
Reconstruction
Once the structure is dry, our construction crew handles the rebuild, replacing the drywall, flooring, and cabinets the water ruined, so the rooms look the way they did before the leak.
General contracting →
Wet carpet can hold onto odor after the water’s gone, so we also offer carpet cleaning and odor removal. If a larger wall opening calls for asbestos testing and removal, we handle that too, and we work with your adjuster on the insurance claims for all of it. Not sure what you need? Call us.

Grand County Water Damage Restoration FAQs
Can wet drywall be dried in place?
Usually, if the water was clean and the drywall is still firm. We dry it where it is and check the wall higher up, where water wicks out of sight. Drywall that has sagged, swelled, grown mold, or soaked up sewage or floodwater comes out, and we cut it just above the wet line so the wall cavity can dry.
Can my hardwood floors be saved?
Often, yes. Solid hardwood that cupped from clean water usually settles back down once the boards and the subfloor underneath are dried. We don’t sand or refinish until the wood is dry, because sanding too soon leaves the boards crowned. Boards that buckled off the subfloor and engineered planks that came apart are replaced.
Can you dry a floor with radiant heat underneath?
Yes. We dry the flooring and the layers above the heating loops, which water doesn’t harm. Before we set up, we map the loops with a thermal camera, so nothing gets drilled or nailed into them. If the leak came from the loop itself, we dry and repair the damage once the line is fixed.
Can my cabinets be saved after a leak?
Often, yes. Solid wood cabinets usually come through fine once they’re dried. We take off the toe kick at the base, or drill a few small holes where they won’t show, and push warm, dry air into the space underneath. Particleboard boxes that have already swelled can’t be saved, so we replace those as part of the rebuild.
How do you know my property is completely dry?
We check it with moisture meters. Every material that got wet has to read the same as that material in a dry part of your property, which is its normal level. Until it does, the drying equipment stays on, and the rebuild doesn’t start.
Does elevation affect the water drying process?
Yes. Dry mountain air pulls moisture off surfaces quickly, so carpet and drywall can feel dry long before the pad, subfloor, and framing underneath are. The thinner air at this elevation also means fans and standard dehumidifiers remove less moisture than they would at sea level. That’s why we use heat-based drying systems that drive the moisture out of those deeper layers.
