What to Expect From Our Mold Remediation Services
What matters most when you find mold is knowing that your family, tenants, or employees are safe and healthy, and that’s where we start. Testing shows whether it’s mold and how far it has spread, so you find out right away whether the space needs remediation and what it will take to make it healthy again.
When remediation is needed, we remove the mold with great care and keep it from spreading while we work, giving you peace of mind that everyone in the building is safe. We seal off the affected area, so life and work can carry on in the other rooms with as little disruption as possible. Once the mold is gone and the moisture is under control, the same company restores the rooms to your standard, and you can rest assured everyone is living or working in a healthy space again. That’s the Rocky Mountain experience.

Our Mold Remediation Process
01 We inspect and find the moisture
We come out to inspect the affected area, test for mold where it’s hidden, and find the leak, condensation, or drainage problem feeding it, so the plan treats the cause along with the growth.
02 We contain the work area
We close off the area with plastic barriers and set up negative air pressure with HEPA filtration, so spores stay inside the work zone while the rest of your property stays clean and usable.
03 We clear out the growth
We cut out the drywall and insulation too damaged to save, clean the framing behind it with dry ice blasting, sanding, and wire brushing, and HEPA-scrub the air until the work area is clean.
04 We put the room back together
Once the area passes our final check, our construction crew replaces the drywall, insulation, and finishes that came out, so the room is ready to use again. If insurance is involved, we send your adjuster our documentation and estimate along the way.

Why Choose Rocky Mountain Catastrophe & Restoration
Why Grand County Counts on Us for Mold Remediation
True mold remediation requires physical removal by trained professionals, which is exactly what our IICRC-certified team does. We check larger sections for lead and asbestos before removal, local real estate agents send their clients our way, a supervisor clears each job before the walls go back up, and the same company finishes the repairs.

01 Certified for mold remediation
Our technicians hold IICRC certification in mold remediation, so containment and removal in your property are done by people certified for mold work, not a general crew.
02 Asbestos and lead testing before removal
Before large sections of moldy drywall come out, we test them for asbestos and lead paint, so the repair doesn’t create a second hazard.
03 Recommended by real estate agents
Real estate agents across the county refer their clients to us for mold testing and removal, so you’re working with the team agents rely on when a sale is on the line.
04 Cleared before the walls close
A supervisor reviews every mold job at key stages and checks the work area before the rebuild starts, so mold isn’t sealed in behind new drywall.
05 Repairs handled in-house
Our own construction crew rebuilds the walls once the area is cleared, so the job ends with a finished room, not an open wall.

The Same Crew Since 2008, With a New Mountain on the Jacket
You might know us as RMCAT, from the diamond logo on our beanies or the tie-dye we wear to every community event. Our logo has changed, but our people, our local roots, and our fast response haven’t.
We take our work seriously, even if we don’t always take ourselves that seriously.

Restoration Work That Often Comes With Mold
Mold usually traces back to excess moisture, and once it’s removed, the wall still needs rebuilding. Our own crews handle everything from drying to the rebuild.
-
Water Damage
When a hidden leak is feeding the mold, our water crews find it, dry out the walls, floors, and insulation around it, and confirm the readings, so the growth doesn’t come back once it’s removed.

Frozen & Burst Pipes
A pipe that split and leaked slowly behind a wall is a common mold source, so we repair the damage, dry the framing and insulation in the wall cavity, and confirm it reads dry before it’s closed back up.
Frozen pipe cleanup → -
Fire & Smoke Damage
Water used to put out a fire can soak a building long enough for mold to grow, so our crews clean the soot, dry the structure, and remove any growth as one job, instead of three separate projects.

When mold turns up behind a bathroom wall, in the crawl space, or across an attic, we contain the growth, take it out, and fix the cause, so it has nothing to grow back from after the rebuild.

Storm & Ice Damming
Ice dams and roof leaks can keep attic insulation damp for weeks, so we tarp and repair the roof, dry the attic, replace insulation that stayed wet, and remediate any mold that does grow.

Reconstruction
When we have to open walls or ceilings to remove mold, our construction crew puts back new drywall, insulation, and trim with matching finishes, so you aren’t left finding a contractor to close it up.

Carpet cleaning and odor removal may also be required if moisture and odor linger after drying. Before we open a large area of moldy drywall or plaster, our own crew handles any asbestos testing and removal it may need. We can also help with the insurance claim when one is involved. Grand County Mold Remediation FAQs
If there’s mold in our attic, will the roof sheathing have to be replaced?
Usually not. Mold on sound sheathing and rafters can be cleaned in place, and wood is replaced only if it’s rotted or delaminated. We clean the wood where it is, replace wet or moldy insulation, and correct whatever kept the attic damp.
How long does mold remediation take?
Most single-area jobs take about one to three days, and mold across several rooms usually takes about a week. Widespread growth takes longer, and the rebuild follows once the area is cleared. We give you a timeline before work starts, so you can plan around it.
Does a musty smell mean there’s mold I can’t see?
Often, yes. A musty smell usually means something has stayed damp long enough for mold to grow, often behind drywall, under flooring, or in a crawl space, even when nothing shows on the surface. We test for hidden mold and trace the moisture behind it, and once the growth and the dampness are gone, the smell goes with them.
Will you need to cut out more than the spot of mold I can see?
Usually a little more. Mold on the back of drywall and inside the wall cavity often runs past the visible edge, so we use moisture readings and a look inside the wall to set the cut. Sound framing stays and gets cleaned, so you’re only replacing what the mold actually reached.
How soon can mold start growing after a leak?
Sooner than most people expect. Once materials get wet and the humidity indoors climbs past about 68 to 70 percent, mold can start growing within 48 to 72 hours, even in a climate as dry as ours. That’s why we dry the area and check for growth as early as possible after a leak.
Will I get a record showing the mold was removed?
Yes. We document what we found and removed with photos and moisture readings, along with the final check that cleared the area for rebuilding. That record helps if you’re selling or renting the property, and if you’re filing a claim, we send it to your adjuster.
