What to Expect From Our Reconstruction Services
By the time you need a rebuild, you’ve already been through enough, so we take the whole project off your hands. Before work begins, you’ll have the cost and a rough date for getting your property back, along with a clear list of what’s going back in. If opening the walls turns up something new, you’ll hear about it and decide before we go ahead, so the final bill matches what you agreed to.
From there, you’ll hear from us at each milestone, so you always know where your rebuild stands. If we handled the cleanup, we already know what came out and why, so the rebuild doesn’t start from scratch. As the work comes together, we’ll help you plan your return: moving furniture back in, booking your first guests, or getting ready to open your doors. When we’re done, the rebuild is behind you, and the place is as good as new. That’s the Rocky Mountain experience.

Our Reconstruction Process
01 We review the damage and plan the rebuild
We go through the property with you, review what was removed during cleanup, and put together a scope, budget, and schedule, so you know what’s being rebuilt and when before work starts.
02 We line up the work and materials
We schedule the work, order materials, and take care of the permits and approvals, so construction can start soon after the drying is done.
03 We rebuild from the studs out
We rebuild framing and roofing where needed, then install insulation, hang drywall, and replace flooring and cabinets, with a project manager keeping the job on schedule and you updated.
04 We walk every finished room with you
We finish with paint and trim, pass the final inspection, and walk through every room with you before we call the job done. Any adjuster on the claim gets progress documentation from us along the way.

Why Property Owners Trust Rocky Mountain With Their Rebuild
Hiring a separate builder after the cleanup means another estimate, another schedule, and another company to keep track of. When we handle the rebuild, you work with a licensed general contractor that has been building here since 2000, has handled total losses, and has a supervisor check the work as it goes, so one company sees your project through from the first wall to the last.

01 Fully licensed general contractors
We’re licensed general contractors and fully insured, including workers’ comp, general liability, and vehicle coverage, so the people working on your property are covered.
02 Building in Grand County since 2000
Our general contracting work here goes back to 2000, so we know the local suppliers and how to keep a rebuild moving in the mountains.
03 One company accountable for your whole rebuild
We manage every part of your rebuild, from the framing to the finish work, so you have one company to call about the schedule and the result.
04 Experience with full rebuilds
We’ve finished full rebuilds of gutted houses and built new homes and commercial buildings from the ground up, so a total loss goes to a team that has done it before.
05 Inspected along the way
A supervisor reviews your rebuild at key stages, so a problem in the framing is fixed before the drywall goes over it.

The Same Crew Since 2008, With a New Mountain on the Jacket
You might know us as RMCAT, from the diamond logo on our beanies or the tie-dye we wear to every community event. Our logo has changed, but our people, our local roots, and our fast response haven’t.
We take our work seriously, even if we don’t always take ourselves that seriously.

The Restoration Work Behind Most Reconstruction
Before reconstruction and rebuilding begin, our crews dry, clean, or remove whatever the damage left behind.
-
Water Damage
When a leak or flood is behind the rebuild, our water crews dry the structure first and confirm it with moisture readings, so new drywall and flooring never go in over wet framing or subfloor.
Water damage restoration → -
Frozen & Burst Pipes
When a burst pipe soaks more than one floor, we dry every level it reached and rebuild the ceilings and walls below, so the floors underneath are finished too, not just the room where the pipe split.
Frozen pipe cleanup → -
Fire & Smoke Damage
Before a fire rebuild starts, we secure the structure, clean the soot and smoke from the framing and anything else that can be saved, and remove the odor, so the new work starts clean and smoke-free.
Fire damage restoration → -
Mold Remediation
When mold is part of the damage, we contain it, remove it, and stop the moisture that fed it before construction starts, so the new drywall and insulation don’t go up over hidden growth.
Mold remediation → -
Storm & Ice Damming
When heavy snow, high wind, or hail damages the roof, siding, or windows, we cover the openings first, then repair the exterior and the rooms behind it in the same rebuild, so you’re not juggling two projects.
Storm damage repair → Reconstruction
When damage leaves rooms down to the studs, we rebuild the walls, floors, cabinets, and roof sections that came out, room by room, until every space is finished and the property is whole again.

Grand County Reconstruction and Repair Service FAQs
Can I stay in my home while you rebuild?
Often, yes. When the work is limited to a few rooms, we close off the work area to keep the dust contained. If the rebuild takes out your kitchen or your only bathroom, we’ll tell you up front whether staying somewhere else for part of it makes more sense.
Do I have to rebuild my home exactly the way it was?
No. A rebuild is a good time to change a layout, add a bathroom, enlarge windows, or rework a kitchen. We handle design-build projects, so the changes are planned, permitted, and built as part of the same project.
Can my home be rebuilt to hold up better against wildfire?
Yes. A rebuild can include a Class A roof, metal gutters, ember-resistant vents, multi-pane windows, fire-rated exterior doors, and noncombustible deck surfaces. We work those choices into the plan from the start, so the finished home is better prepared for the next fire season.
How long does a rebuild usually take?
It depends on how much has to be rebuilt. A single room often takes one to two weeks, work across several rooms can run three to six weeks, and rebuilding most of a home can take several months. Material lead times and mountain winters can stretch those numbers.
Can you use mold-resistant materials when you rebuild?
Yes. Bathrooms, laundry rooms, and basements can be rebuilt with mold-resistant drywall and cement board behind tile. Those materials are worth considering in the rooms that see the most water, since they hold up better if there’s ever another leak.
Can my vacation rental be rebuilt with finishes that hold up to guests?
Yes. Many owners replace carpet with luxury vinyl plank or tile in entries, kitchens, and baths, and choose scrubbable paint and tougher countertops. We can make those changes during the rebuild, so the rental is easier to turn over between guests.
